Born 1966 in Belgium, Sandra's artistic talents were early recognized all through her youth by winning several art contest awards Not in the least because she always had a very strong opinion of her own. Her childhood was strongly influenced by her grandmother, who was born in the USA state of Indiana.
Her grandma, a professional singer, allowed Sandra to develop her character as it is today. Sandra knows what she wants, and what she don't want! She has a natural nose for beauty and harmony, an imaginative and visualizing mind, spontaneous, outspoken, emotional and guided by strong values based on universal and natural principles.

As a teenager she revolted boldly in school and was the nightmare of the classically regulated school culture that dogmatically tried to keep her in its chains. This was like putting out fire with gasoline. Her values of honesty, equality and respect for everything in nature were an enormous strength inside that at the same time made her very self confident and persistent. Yet, her university study went very smooth and her unbiased fresh look upon things has pleasantly surprised many professor. Getting a masters degree in communication sciences at the State University of Ghent, was for her the proof that, being one self, can bring you much further that running along with mediocrity and outdated rulings.

She has always balanced between extremes: while she was graduating with honor in an intellectual environment, her friends were among the humble people of every day who are good hearted on the inside, but look 'kinda rough' on the outside, and preferably.... drive a big motorbike.... and dare to question the rules of society and tradition.

All these characteristics make her a rather trendsetting personality, she is not afraid to do and boldly express what she stands for, even if it means redefining and rethinking some rules.
Being so outspoken all her life, she has rocked and question-marked several habits and rituals, creating chaos, but never without clearly expressing the new order, which is based on her strong and sound values of honesty and integrity and belief in the intrinsic inner strengths of the universe.

During a fast and successful career in advertising, Sandra was traveling the globe in all directions, igniting again her love for nature, beauty, light and colors. While moving to South East Asia in 1997, she decided to start painting full time. Asian cultures, and not in the least Buddhism has brought her confirmation and further development of her values and understanding of life and the universe.

With this background, we can now enjoy an artist without any predeterminations, with an expressive power coming from deep inside and universally connected. She's paint-brushing the beauty of her soul in shameless, self confident colors, giving her valuable message of honesty and respect for nature, its beauty, diversity and its powers and delicate balance. As such, she is throwing her own perspective on the things that our economical world thinks are so important.
